About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with the study, prototyping, and/or performance evaluation of new communication architectures
  • In particular, integrate components developed by other Thales entities
  • Understand the operational needs of systems by engaging with subject-matter experts
  • Study and propose system architectures and solutions that meet these needs
  • Validate architectures and solutions with stakeholders
  • Build prototypes using digital-twin components, real equipment, and performance testing and measurement tools
  • Summarize the results obtained
  • Contribute to recommendations arising from the experiments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (five years of higher education) and seeking a six-month internship
  • Strong foundation in Linux environments, including installation, configuration, administration, and tuning
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, particularly radio communications
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, IPSec, OSPF, NTP, and DHCP
  • Experience using tools such as Wireshark and/or tcpdump
  • Python development skills
  • Experience with network virtualization, such as GNS3 or EVE-NG
  • Experience using Git and understanding of configuration management principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • English proficiency sufficient for professional communication, both spoken and written
  • Strong analytical and summarization skills, with the ability to clarify complex topics
  • Ability to work independently and carry tasks through from start to finish
  • Enjoyment of teamwork and collaboration with multiple stakeholders
