About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary commercial partner for Access’ 22 Software Companies in the on-Access payments programme
  • Drive commercial go-to-market execution to achieve revenue targets
  • Partner with Software Companies to drive payments adoption and transacting volume
  • Ensure live integrations convert into merchants transacting at scale
  • Develop cohort strategies and targeted activation plans
  • Advise on pricing structures, merchant incentives, bundling options, and volume impact on net margin
  • Guide Software Companies through Risk & Compliance requirements, including Customer Risk Evaluations, KYC/KYB, and merchant onboarding compliance
  • Develop payment-specific go-to-market plans covering targeting, messaging, sales motion, enablement, support, and commercial propositions
  • Support merchant onboarding journey design
  • Ensure adoption reporting tracks activation rates, time-to-first-transaction, transacting volume, and business-case performance
  • Own financial accountability for the payments growth budget
  • Monitor merchant and end-customer experience metrics and incorporate findings into workstream planning
  • Prepare and present board-level and MD-level materials on payments growth progress
  • Support day-to-day commercial relationships with acquiring partners
  • Maintain understanding of contracts, volume commitments, and performance against volume goals
  • Collaborate with SoftCo MDs and GMs, Product & Engineering, Marketing, Finance, acquirers, and strategic payments partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Track record of driving commercial adoption or growth in a Payments environment, preferably SaaS, with demonstrable experience of growing revenue streams
  • Strong commercial execution; organized, self-directed, and able to design and own an executable plan to achieve commercial goals
  • Experience engaging directly with senior stakeholders on commercial propositions
  • Experience working directly with product or commercial teams in a partner or channel context
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build genuine working relationships at pace
  • Comfortable working with contracts and commercial frameworks
  • Ability to guide stakeholders through commercial agreements, understand contractual implications, and identify gaps or risks
  • Ability to interpret and communicate payment or transaction data clearly
  • Comfortable working with volume metrics, basis point economics, and period-on-period performance analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to translate complex commercial and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Desirable: experience in payments or embedded finance
  • Desirable: familiarity with acquiring economics, interchange, scheme fees, basis points, KYC/KYB processes, or payment gateway integrations
  • Desirable: experience within a multi-product SaaS group with a portfolio of software businesses
  • Desirable: experience designing or delivering GTM programmes for financial or payments products
  • Desirable: experience working with Risk & Compliance teams in a regulated or semi-regulated environment
