About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out the day-to-day functions of assigned homes/sites under the supervision of the Program Manager
- Secure the well-being and safety of individuals with disabilities
- Assist individuals with personal care and daily living skills
- Train, supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to Direct Support Professionals
- Plan schedules, maintain staffing ratios, approve leave and review timecards
- Fill in for staff when needed and assist with interviewing and hiring direct support staff
- Assign duties to Direct Support Professionals and ensure adherence to policies and procedures
- Ensure review and signatures of nursing, behavior, and other plans
- Monitor electronic health records, case notes, documentation, and client dashboards
- Complete house inspections, fire drills, monthly attendance, and house meetings
- Ensure homes operate within budget and manage consumer cash, Impress accounts, and SNAP food accounts
- Complete PCP documentation and train staff on plans
- Review incident reports for accuracy before submission
- Coordinate and document medical appointments and paperwork
- Schedule activities for consumers and monitor medical, dental, medication, nutrition, and hygiene needs
- Respond to emergencies, including assisting with hospital coverage
- Maintain confidentiality and model agency philosophy and professional behavior
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalency required
- Two years of progressively responsible experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of available community resources
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work anywhere within the Tri-County area (Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties)
- Customer service-oriented
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Good command of the English language, oral and written
- Valid driving license with a good driving record
- Access to a safe vehicle for transporting people receiving services; vehicle must pass agency-sponsored inspection
- Ability to pass the criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland
- Ability to respond to emergencies during and after hours, on weekends, and holidays when applicable
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Associate Degree in human services or related field preferred

Comp & perks- $1,000 sign-on bonus payable in two installments ($500 after the first 3 months and $500 after satisfactory completion of the 12-month period)
