About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support ACES participants ages 16–24 with job-readiness skill development, vocational training, employment planning, and job placement
- Provide individualized job coaching, employment planning, and career counseling
- Design and deliver workshops on resume building, interview techniques, workplace etiquette, job searching, and related job-readiness skills
- Support effective job searches using online job portals and networking strategies
- Provide one-on-one coaching and individualized job-search plans
- Travel within the community to meet participants in homes, workplaces, and other settings
- Guide participants in acquiring professional credentials and certifications through referral partners
- Escort participants to job fairs and employment networking opportunities
- Coordinate employment events, job fairs, hiring initiatives, outreach activities, and participant engagement opportunities
- Maintain participant attendance and progress documentation in databases
- Communicate with referral partners to support successful placements
- Participate in professional development training
- Stay current with workforce-development trends and best practices
- Perform other duties assigned by the Team Leader or Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in workforce development required
- 2 years or more of work with youth and/or young adults
- Commitment to active youth engagement
- Experience working with justice-involved and/or opportunity youth
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of external and internal partners
- Trained in or committed to training to become competent in trauma-informed approaches
- Commitment to participant-centered service delivery and continuous improvement
- Valid tri-state driver's license required
- Ability to travel regularly within the community and move with participants to job-related appointments, interviews, job fairs, training programs, work sites, and other employment-related opportunities
