About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop trusting and transformative relationships with youth referred and found eligible for the program
  • Serve as the first point of contact for new referrals
  • Have contact with youth 2–3 times per week in person in the community
  • Develop strong relationships with the communities served by ACES
  • Escort participants to appointments
  • Participate in and co-facilitate in-office programming, including Peace Circles
  • Manage work-related stress through self-care strategies, supervision, team meetings, and team-building/stress-reduction activities
  • Use the program database effectively to track work and measure program performance
  • Attend trips and activities with participants and staff
  • Participate in internal and external trainings
  • Meet weekly for supervision
  • Serve as a designated driver as needed
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep passion for working with youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system
  • Understanding that ACES participants are not mandated and require a new approach to youth work
  • Willingness to adhere to an evolving model
  • Belief that ACES participants, community members, and team members have the ability and capacity for change
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of whom ACES serves and the environments they live in
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to drive a 15-passenger van
  • Ability to work full-time Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, 35 hours per week
  • Ability to work primarily in the community and attend office-based programming
  • All team members must wear ACES logo apparel during work hours
