About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the day-to-day operation and coordination of environments and releases
  • Balance the needs of multiple projects and operational services while reducing delivery risk and improving change quality entering production
  • Manage development, test, UAT, training, staging and production environments, including provisioning, refreshes, upgrades, patching, access controls, configuration and dependency management
  • Plan and coordinate releases across environments and maintain deployment calendars
  • Support release readiness reviews and ensure rollback, contingency and recovery arrangements are in place
  • Ensure environments and test data are ready for system, integration, UAT, end-to-end, regression, performance, operational readiness and training activities
  • Align testing milestones with release plans and identify environment-related risks or issues
  • Support defect triage where configuration or environment problems affect testing outcomes
  • Maintain governance, audit trails, standards, documentation and reporting for environments and releases
  • Ensure compliance with information security and change control requirements
  • Manage relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Communicate about environment availability, planned changes, outages, risks and dependencies
  • Improve environment stability, release quality, deployment automation, DevOps practices and testing effectiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience managing multiple IT environments, including development, test, UAT, training, staging and production environments, in a Microsoft Azure/D365 environment
  • Experience coordinating technology releases, deployments, release readiness activity and change governance
  • Understanding of how environments, testing, release management and operational readiness work together
  • Experience supporting software testing and quality assurance activities, including test environment and test data preparation
  • Strong planning, organisation, risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage dependencies and competing priorities
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and building relationships with project teams, service teams, technical specialists and business stakeholders
  • Experience of large-scale transformation programmes, SaaS or cloud-hosted applications, DevOps tooling, automated deployment pipelines, ITIL, Agile or PRINCE2 delivery approaches
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining technical matters to non-technical audiences
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, automation where appropriate, good governance and the values of the NCIs
