About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead procurement and implementation of a replacement national safeguarding case management system
- Work with safeguarding teams, dioceses and cathedrals to identify, validate and prioritise user requirements
- Translate requirements into procurement documentation and future system design
- Drive business case development and solution definition
- Organise impact assessments, prepare budget proposals and recommend budget changes
- Establish project organisation, governance responsibilities, project team roles and Project Boards
- Define project scope, financial profile, goals, objectives, risks and deliverables
- Create and manage project, resource and communications plans and the project budget
- Acquire resources, allocate work and coordinate team members, contractors and consultants
- Collaborate with IT colleagues, stakeholders, technical developers and third-party suppliers
- Develop use cases, test plans and user acceptance scripts
- Oversee data cleansing and migration from multiple data sources
- Manage fault logs and coordinate fault resolution
- Oversee quality control, risk assessment and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain project benefits profiles and review project benefits with managers
- Ensure IT security, data handling, data protection and acceptable-use compliance
- Support user training and adjustment of business processes and working practices
- Plan business and system readiness and lead transition to business as usual
- Ensure helpdesk handover and competent IT support for new systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- PRINCE2, ITIL, PMBOK or related project management certification
- Ability to problem-solve in a logical and structured manner
- Project management skills, including risk assessment and management
- Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Visio and MS Project, and TFS
- Strong project management governance and risk management skills
- Strong report writing skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences
- Experience using a wide range of IT systems and providing consultancy and support
- Project Manager experience in a similar role and a track record of delivering technical IT and business change projects
- Experience applying programme and project management standards and processes
- Experience working with IT infrastructure teams
- Experience managing and supervising project management contractors
- Experience managing third-party suppliers
- Experience managing full project budgets
- Experience establishing and allocating project resources
- Experience producing business requirements, business cases and high-quality project documentation
- Experience using business process improvement techniques
- Experience using systems research and analysis techniques
- Significant experience conducting impact assessments for project requests and making recommendations
- Experience developing test scripts and managing user acceptance tests, including fault resolution
- Experience helping staff and departments use IT solutions
