About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help create, modify, and improve curriculum resources for missionaries and teachers
  • Analyze and evaluate curriculum materials and provide feedback for new or refined resources
  • Coordinate pilot and project logistics and needs
  • Perform formative and summative evaluations of learning experiences and products
  • Collect, track, and maintain data, including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and spreadsheet management
  • Develop tools to gather data on pilot impact and track effectiveness and efficiency
  • Prepare and participate in focus groups as facilitator or note taker and synthesize key takeaways
  • Teach and train pilot participants on curriculum approaches and accompanying resources
  • Communicate with Language Curriculum Managers regarding project progress
  • Maintain missionary-facing documents, update curriculum content in MTC Tools, and update calendar events
  • Organize translated materials, recordings, video clips, and demonstrations; edit clips into in-house training videos
  • Track curriculum-material iteration versions
  • Perform other temporary MTC duties, such as assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1 year of combined experience in teaching, training, curriculum development, linguistics, evaluation, or instructional design
  • Detail-oriented, creative, analytical, able to work with ambiguity and under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in a second language
  • Able to manage multiple complex assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Effective teamwork skills, with or without supervision, across MTC departments
  • High aptitude for learning and using new software applications
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication in English and a second language
  • Ability to cooperate and give and accept feedback
  • Willingness to give and follow directions and receive training
  • Very knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
  • Able to meet physical requirements such as sitting for long periods and using monitors/equipment
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
  • Preferred: teaching-curriculum experience, previous MTC teaching experience, knowledge of MTC processes and policies, video-editing training or experience, and project-management software experience
