  • Prepare and analyze budgets and financial statements for a large, complex unit or department division
  • Anticipate future financial needs
  • Review budgets and financial statements analytically
  • Reconcile appropriation and cash flow budgets to the general ledger
  • Ensure correct general-ledger coding and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Identify trends and potential areas of concern
  • Initiate basic adjustments and report actions
  • Prepare management reports, charts, and graphs illustrating findings
  • Investigate alternatives and recommend adjustments
  • Perform on-site internal control reviews
  • Review appropriation or budget-transfer documents
  • Work with division managers to resolve differences
  • Conduct cost studies, overhead analysis, cost justifications, and savings analysis
  • Prepare financial procedures
  • Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced financial analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management is required
  • Five to eight years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, business management, or equivalent
  • CMA, CPA, or MBA preferred
  • Understanding of accounting principles and Church accounting systems
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
