About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Combine an understanding of Church organization, culture, and interests with seasoned industry-level technical expertise in property tax.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing required property tax returns and related statements or records.
  • Maintain records of property tax assessments and tax payments.
  • Recommend financial actions that may lessen the organization's tax liability while meeting organizational goals and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Research and suggest responses to changes in tax laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Assist with audits as needed.
  • Perform work under minimal supervision.
  • Handle complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • May lead the work of others in the absence of the supervisor or manager and provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • Typically report to a Property Tax Supervisor or other manager.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business management, or related field.
  • 4 years of applicable work experience.
  • Possesses comprehensive working knowledge of property tax issues.
  • Possesses ability to lead the work of other employees as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills, analytical thinking skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Is detail oriented.
  • Has solid computer, word processing, and database management skills.
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
  • Physical requirements may include sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
