About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and prioritize shopper and category learning plans around key Amazon growth decisions
- Uncover shopper motivations, missions, purchase drivers, and barriers across Amazon and other retail channels
- Integrate shopper research, syndicated data, retailer analytics, digital commerce insights, and market intelligence
- Identify opportunities to grow the buyer base, improve conversion, and drive repeat purchase and Subscribe & Save participation
- Translate findings into prioritized recommendations across assortment, pack and price, product claims, content, merchandising, and retail media
- Build compelling stories and present recommendations to senior leaders and Amazon partners
- Partner with Field Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Retail Media, and Data & Analytics teams
- Shape Amazon Annual Vendor Negotiations, Category Strategy Reviews, Commercial Plan Reviews, and Multi-Year Planning
- Develop forward-looking perspectives on shopper behavior, category trends, and emerging discovery pathways
- Use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to accelerate learning
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in Shopper Insights, Consumer Insights, Customer Insights, Category Management, or a related field
- Demonstrated ownership of shopper learning and commercial recommendations
- Amazon business experience required
- Experience using Stackline (Beacon, Atlas and the Shopper Analytics Panel)
- Amazon Marketing Cloud experience is ideal
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau
- Experience with market or trend sources such as Kantar, Mintel, or CRC
- Experience in consumer-packaged goods, with large retailers such as Walmart, or emerging commerce platforms such as Instacart or DoorDash
- Demonstrated success influencing a commercial decision through shopper insight
- Ability to design and interpret quantitative and qualitative shopper or consumer research
- Ability to connect research with behavioral, syndicated, or retailer data
- Ability to present insights and recommendations directly to retail customers and senior business leaders
- Ability to build trust across functional relationships, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence decisions without direct authority
- Ability to frame business questions, develop learning plans, test hypotheses, and select research approaches
- Ability to synthesize multiple sources into a coherent shopper story
- Strong data interpretation and analytical judgment
- Working knowledge of syndicated and shopper data such as Circana, NielsenIQ, or Numerator
- Understanding of digital commerce and retail media measures
- Confident Excel skills
- Ability to partner with Data & Analytics specialists on advanced analysis, measurement, and visualization
