About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support security across the development lifecycle for assigned College Board product teams
  • Participate in threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and design reviews, including AI-powered products and AI coding tools
  • Conduct security code reviews and operate assigned security tooling
  • Support remediation of identified vulnerabilities
  • Participate in product team planning, grooming, and design sessions
  • Contribute to threat models and risk registers; document findings and escalate issues as needed
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply exploitability frameworks for risk prioritization
  • Apply security policies, audit requirements, and GRC standards to support compliance activities
  • Review code and security design documentation and provide feedback
  • Track and report progress against Product Security Framework requirements
  • Support security training, secure coding practices, and the Product Security Partners program
  • Document security learnings and contribute to the shared knowledge base
  • Operate and monitor security tooling across cloud environments and support CI/CD security controls
  • Track and report security metrics
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and manage assigned stories and tasks
  • Serve as on-call first responder for owned security tooling and support incident response

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of experience in product security, application security, cloud security, or software engineering with security responsibilities
  • Deep application security knowledge, including OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, and security testing
  • Solid experience securing AWS services, AWS secure architectures, application security and cloud applications
  • Experience with software supply chain and microservice architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27002, PCI, and PII audit and compliance frameworks
  • Experience reading and reviewing code
  • Proficiency or active development of skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python is a plus
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel 2–3 times per year to College Board offices in New York or Reston, Virginia
