About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with assigned product and engineering teams as their security advisor
- Participate in planning, grooming, and design sessions to advise on security architecture and identify risks
- Own threat models, risk assessments, security engagement lifecycles, and mitigation plans
- Lead vulnerability reviews and remediation and assess exploitability for risk prioritization
- Apply AI security practices, College Board security policies, and compliance requirements to guide product teams
- Write and review security design documentation and code
- Ensure products meet Product Security Framework requirements and drive remediation of gaps
- Coach product teams and junior engineers through discussions, code reviews, and training
- Grow the AI Product Security program and develop AI security controls and guidance
- Document and share emerging security patterns and industry trends
- Deploy and operate security tooling across cloud environments
- Integrate automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to roadmap planning and strategic direction
- Define and track product security KPIs and report progress
- Participate in agile ceremonies, manage epics, and assess roadmap timelines and risk
- Work with the Information Security team on incident response and operational initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–8 years of product security experience, including ownership of the full security engagement lifecycle
- Application security expertise across secure SDLC, CI/CD pipeline security, cloud environments, and frameworks including OWASP and CIS
- Strong knowledge of emerging security trends in AI and agentic AI
- Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27002, PCI, and PII compliance requirements
- Proficiency reviewing and improving application architecture for security, testability, and maintainability
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
- AWS experience preferred/plus
- Ability to establish working relationships with product owners and engineering teams
- Experience shaping backlog prioritization and roadmap decisions from a security perspective
- Expertise in more than one technical domain
- Ability to travel 3–5 times per year to College Board offices in New York or Reston, VA
- Authorization to work in the United States for any employer
