About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and verify tasks and time allotments for maintenance work orders
  • Acquire best-value materials and parts and allocate tools and other resources
  • Follow up on work quality and completion through field visits and communication with clients, technicians, crew leads, and supervisors
  • Prepare weekly schedules for each technician showing daily planned work orders and other activities or absences
  • Update frequencies of predictive and preventive maintenance work orders
  • Coordinate equipment outages with clients
  • Support facilities maintenance operations for the University of Texas at Austin
  • Operate electronic devices and work management systems to receive assignments and update work orders
  • Work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and emergency situations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduation or GED
  • Seven to nine years of experience in facilities maintenance
  • Experience with maintenance of building structures and related HVAC equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship
  • Criminal background check required for selected applicant/finalist
  • Associate degree or above in a technical field (preferred)
  • Completion of vocational trade or apprentice program in one or more journeyman trades (preferred)
  • Experience with large buildings and large HVAC systems (preferred)
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques including thermography, temperature, pressure, vibration monitoring, and power analysis (preferred)
  • Candidate's Motor Vehicle Report for the past 36 months must be clear (preferred)
  • Resume/CV, three work references including at least one supervisor reference, and letter of interest required
  • May be required to pass a physical examination
  • May require tuberculosis screening and occasional respirator use
  • Must maintain acceptable driver rating when driving University vehicles
