About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of recruitment and yield strategies for the Quebec market and virtual recruitment programming
- Provide advice and service on admissions matters to applicants, students, staff, the public, and senior management
- Implement initiatives supporting unit strategy and university undergraduate enrolment priorities
- Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors and support the Associate Director with day-to-day department management
- Provide admissions, recruitment, scholarships, and student services information
- Develop, manage, and deliver virtual programming for domestic and international prospective, applicant, and admitted students
- Plan, evaluate, report on, and recommend improvements to virtual recruitment programming
- Host webinars through Zoom, Slate, and Webex, and organize drop-in sessions and third-party fairs
- Develop and implement Quebec recruitment and yield strategy, including planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Build relationships with faculty recruitment and admissions personnel for Quebec recruitment and yield collaboration
- Develop communications plans and manage the virtual recruitment calendar
- Use recruiting software to plan, schedule, and track activities, budgets, and KPIs
- Develop measurement criteria and provide data to support recruitment strategy evaluation
- Report on market activity through observations, research, professional networks, and reports
- Participate in budget planning and recommend resource allocation
- Support recruitment training and professional development activities
- Hire, supervise, train, evaluate, mentor, and coach unionized staff
- Manage workload distribution and handle conflicts and difficult situations
- Build relationships with Faculties and internal McGill units
- Represent McGill at in-person, virtual, on-campus, CEGEP, and Quebec high school events and visits
- Prepare and deliver presentations and documents and follow up with students
- Represent the Recruitment team on working groups, project teams, and committees
- Support the Welcome Centre by meeting prospective student visitors and answering questions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Supervisory experience a requirement
- Experience advising potential students on admissions criteria
- Knowledge of the student life cycle
- Experience in student recruitment in Quebec
- McGill undergraduate experience an asset
- Ability to support staff in their daily recruitment and administrative operations
- Proven experience in data analysis: ability to review statistics and reports, condense, recap, and evaluate data to propose and plan effective recruitment activities
- Proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and multi-task accurately with attention to detail
- Experience working in a PC environment using databases, presentation software, web tools, CRMs, and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and writing skills
- Proven experience organizing events and fairs locally and at out-of-town venues
- Experience in the creation of dynamic presentations, an asset
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
- Valid Quebec Driver’s license and valid Passport
- Availability to travel short and long distances extensively and using various modes of transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, and weekends
- English and French written and spoken
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 Years Related Experience
- Must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec
