About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build, integrate, and support information security solutions aligned with executive strategies
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Assess business processes to ensure security is appropriately integrated
  • Assess application and product risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with networking, architecture, development, cybersecurity engineering, and cyber threat intelligence teams
  • Troubleshoot and deliver solutions directly with stakeholders and end-users
  • Provide organization-wide information security engineering support, including off-hours and on-call support
  • Deliver reports and findings to management and leadership
  • Recommend security policies, standards, best practices, and system configuration standards
  • Identify high-risk infrastructure and environmental areas for assessment
  • Coordinate activities across departments and business units
  • Monitor current and emerging developments and incorporate relevant trends into solutions
  • Implement process improvements to improve team, department, and business-unit quality
  • Create, script, and maintain correlation searches and alerts using diverse log sources
  • Apply security logging and alerting best practices
  • Optimize alerting and response using machine learning, automation, and orchestration techniques
  • Analyze security events in the Security Operations Center and address incidents
  • Monitor the health and effectiveness of prevention, detection, and response capabilities
  • Build and improve cybersecurity procedures and documentation
  • Share knowledge, provide training, and mentor information security team members
  • Execute certificate management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 1+ years of IT Security experience in areas such as security operations, incident analysis, incident handling, vulnerability management or testing, log analysis, or intrusion detection
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (Lawful Permanent Residence or US Citizen)
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of cybersecurity tools
  • Hands-on experience in Windows/Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint encryption, endpoint protection, antivirus, security monitoring agents, vulnerability scanning, content analysis and filtering, and data loss prevention
  • Experience with PowerShell, Perl, and Python
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of security fundamentals, general IT, network systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, Windows and Linux systems administration, Windows/Linux and Mac operating systems, desktop engineering, cloud technologies, databases, and software development
  • Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH required or to be obtained within 18 months
  • Ability and commitment to communicate effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and partnership-building skills
  • Strong accountability and ownership toward achieving goals and tasks
