  • Drive conversion of agents to partners through Small Commercial key initiatives
  • Collaborate with Underwriting and Regional Field Leadership
  • Direct and coach Small Commercial Sales Managers
  • Own and develop small commercial business strategies for assigned regions
  • Lead and mentor regional and local enterprise strategic execution
  • Work with Sales Managers to develop territory business plans
  • Promote collaboration with agents to develop fast, flexible, custom-tailored insurance solutions
  • Incorporate partnership strategy and small commercial marketplace knowledge into effective sales management
  • Develop Sales Managers' competencies and institutionalize sales drills
  • Conduct competency assessments and provide RVP insight into Sales Managers' performance
  • Consult on performance management
  • Coach Sales Managers on day-to-day sales activities
  • Liaise with Small Commercial headquarters on product and service enhancements
  • Drive regional objectives through collaboration with business, RVPs/REs, and key franchise stakeholders
  • Enhance enterprise engagement and influence of other business-unit leadership
  • Evaluate territory needs, talent growth potential, and development roadmaps
  • Resolve complex issues using independent judgment, creativity, and industry knowledge
  • Apply company business strategies to anticipate business needs based on industry trends
  • Manage and mentor Small Commercial Sales Managers
  • Establish strategies with senior leadership, agents, underwriting, state management, actuarial, operations, marketing, claims, loss control, vendors, and other functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years proven sales and sales management track record in small commercial insurance or financial services environment
  • Advanced sales and marketing skills
  • Proven track record for developing new business and talent
  • Exceptional mentoring and training skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including face-to-face interactions, group presentations, phone skills, and written communications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence senior-level field leadership across multiple branches and/or regions
  • Ability to effectively manage 8–10 salespeople and balance multiple sales priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Passion for driving actions and achieving results, with a competitive spirit and achievement orientation
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
  • Knowledge of project/program management principles, theories, practices, and techniques
  • Professional designation such as CPCU or CIC preferred
