About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the end-to-end technology strategy, execution, and continuous transformation of Group Benefits engineering
  • Own the end-to-end technology strategy, delivery, and modernization of the Employer Experience value stream
  • Partner with business and product leaders to define and execute technology and AI roadmaps
  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted development, testing, automation, and operations
  • Drive scalable, cloud-native, API-driven technology solutions with Enterprise and Solution Architecture teams
  • Align data, analytics, and AI capabilities with business objectives
  • Establish modern engineering and DevSecOps practices to improve reliability, security, resilience, and developer experience
  • Use outcome-based metrics and engineering productivity measures for transparency and continuous improvement
  • Build and lead high-performing engineering teams through workforce planning, organization design, AI-enabled skill transformation, and talent development
  • Champion engineering excellence, innovation, customer focus, and responsible AI adoption
  • Evaluate emerging AI and technology trends and translate them into practical business capabilities
  • Report to the CIO of Employer Benefits Technology

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience in technical software solution development and engineering leadership
  • Employee Benefits and/or insurance industry experience preferred but not required
  • Hands-on experience leading complex portfolios through transformation, such as digital or large platform replacement
  • Demonstrated engineering track record of sustainable technical solution design focused on productivity, efficiency, and innovation
  • Experience leading legacy-to-modern application transitions, including cloud migration and continued technical innovation in the cloud
  • Experience building and developing future-ready technology talent
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technology concepts into business language
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to engage executive-level leaders across organizational boundaries to influence decisions and drive results
  • Global experience with onshore and offshore teams, including the US and India, and vendor resource strategy management
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for learning and excellent customer focus
