About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a defined book of business consisting of Regional Account customers with 500–4,999 lives
- Retain and grow the assigned book of business
- Proactively support clients through interactions including stewardship meetings based on customer needs
- Develop and execute comprehensive book-of-business strategies aligned with organizational initiatives, profitability and persistence targets, segment requirements, and customer needs
- Recommend changes where appropriate and monitor clients’ changing benefits, HR needs, and corporate landscape
- Identify and coordinate annual enrollment activity and communication requirements
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new or increased lines of coverage with the Regional Account Executive
- Educate and develop relationships with brokers and their staff
- Drive the renewal process with the Regional Account Executive and Underwriter, engaging other business partners as appropriate
- Serve as the primary liaison among customers, producers, and internal partners
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and act appropriately
- Communicate basic underwriting principles, claims experience, and pricing justifications to producers and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of Disability and Life Group Benefits experience; emphasis on account management is preferred
- Must obtain and maintain the Group Life & Health license, including Continuing Education requirements, as a condition of employment
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present to groups of varying sizes
- Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented; able to manage multiple priorities at once
- Ability to build rapport and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrates good leadership skills
- Must reside near one of the listed offices: Atlanta, GA or Alpharetta, GA
- Expected to work in an office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
