About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle customer service and administrative duties supporting Livestock Department operations, including livestock insurance policy processing and claims processing
  • Perform accurate and timely livestock insurance policy data entry and issuance
  • Process routine to increasingly complex livestock policy and endorsement requests, working with Underwriting when appropriate
  • Validate agent licensing using internal systems and manual procedures
  • Prepare and distribute policy documentation, endorsements, certificates and related notices
  • Ensure required jurisdictional notifications, disclosures, claim contact and livestock-specific policy language are included and emailed to agents
  • Generate livestock policy billing and premium information
  • Compile and summarize financial and policy information for rate monitoring, commissions, reinsurance reporting and billing analysis
  • Organize and maintain livestock policy files
  • Process policy renewals, form and endorsement updates, renewal notices and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Prepare TORT notifications and jurisdictional notices for renewals, cancellations, non-renewals and material policy changes
  • Manage shared/group inboxes, triaging inquiries and routing correspondence to Underwriters
  • Handle livestock-related inquiries via phone and email, including policy status, coverage questions, endorsements and claims support
  • Communicate with producers, agents and insureds using livestock terminology
  • Direct customers to underwriting and claims resources when needed
  • Prioritize daily workload and support teammates
  • Participate in training and onboarding entry-level specialists
  • Manage mail, packages, office equipment and office supplies
  • Update agency management systems with contracts, licensing and appointment information
  • Monitor agency licensing requirements and report changes or deficiencies
  • Respond to sales and underwriting inquiries related to agency licensing, appointments and livestock program eligibility
  • Maintain agency and agent information in the agency management system

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of Customer Service, Operations or Insurance experience required
  • Livestock/Agricultural experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Solid business skills; PC, software, keyboarding and strong data entry skills
  • Adaptable/flexible; open to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; writes clearly and effectively; edits work for spelling and grammar
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team
  • Support team leader/manager on team projects
