Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate Short-Term Disability claims to determine eligibility for short-term benefits
  • Work with insured individuals on treatment plans to support return to work
  • Follow corporate claim standards, policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders and gather and communicate Short-Term Disability claim information
  • Apply critical thinking, analytical skills and mathematical aptitude to evaluate information and reach appropriate conclusions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years of customer service experience required
  • 1+ years of claims experience preferred
  • Medical terminology experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to maintain quality and accuracy while meeting productivity expectations
  • Ability to thrive in a structured team environment
  • Ability to excel in a high-volume, ever-changing environment
  • Readily embraces change and champions innovation
  • Successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course and pass the final course assessment within 30 business days of completion
  • Ability to work training during core business hours and post-training hours of 8am–4:30pm local standard time
