About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with technology and investment professionals to deliver innovative solutions
- Design, develop, and enhance a modern enterprise data platform
- Build and support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery solutions
- Develop APIs, services, web applications, and automation solutions
- Collaborate with business partners, data engineers, architects, and application development teams
- Integrate internal and third-party data sources while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellence
- Apply object-oriented design, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development tools
- Contribute to architecture decisions and shape HIMCO’s data and technology capabilities
- Develop understanding of investment industry and related business processes
- Participate in project planning, clarify requirements, and engage with clients and analysts
- Design, develop, and maintain applications
- Implement quality assurance principles and ensure solutions meet business needs
- Provide ongoing application maintenance and support
- Assist in building the new data platform, including database, ETL processing, and event-driven solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience developing systems with .NET and C#
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Experience integrating and supporting vendor systems (preferred)
- Exposure to investment domain (preferred)
- Familiarity with ETL tools (preferred)
- AWS cloud implementation experience (preferred)
- Python development experience (preferred)
- Candidates who live near one of the employer’s locations are expected to work in an office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
- Required to affirm to HIMCO’s Code of Ethics and comply with disclosure of accounts, holdings, and pre-clearance of trades for the candidate’s and household family members’ accounts
- Covered Associates under HIMCO’s Pay to Play Policy must disclose political contributions from the past 2 calendar years
