About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, recommend, and execute investigations of workers’ compensation claims
- Manage workers’ compensation claims requiring timely investigations and financial accuracy
- Provide benefit oversight, appropriate file disposition, and adherence to statutory guidelines
- Value, dispose of, and settle workers’ compensation claims in accordance with corporate claim settlement policies
- Work within established procedures and statutory, regulatory, and ethical requirements
- Leverage doctors, nurses, attorneys, and regulators to facilitate claimant recovery
- Establish and maintain productive customer business relationships
- Gather and analyze data to inform critical claim decisions
- Calculate disability benefit rates and claim financial exposures
- Use contemporary technology to achieve accurate and efficient claim outcomes
- Demonstrate professional diplomacy during customer interactions
- Contribute to collaboration, operational performance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- For Sr. Claim Representative: minimum of 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claim handling required
- Prior workers’ compensation insurance claim handling preferred for Claim Representative
- Certification exams and adjusting licenses as required by state
- Demonstrated passion for delivering a superb customer experience
- Strong computer proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet productivity targets in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to adapt to industry-changing workflows
- Active listening and empathy during difficult situations
- Ability to self-manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within key timelines
