About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership and support to plant operational and maintenance staff in problem resolution and optimization of existing electrical control and automation systems
- Manage electrical and controls resources
- Support continuous improvement through equipment capability and performance data improvements to increase operational capability, reliability, and efficiency
- Lead and support development of controls and instrumentation expertise for plant technical resources
- Manage and support capital projects and provide technical assistance to project teams
- Support development of future facility capital requirements
- Develop and execute controls and automation strategies for process and packaging equipment optimization, including waste reduction, changeover improvement, reliability, and efficiency
- Ensure process and packaging controls capabilities align with operational requirements such as Lean and TPM
- Coordinate and lead execution of controls upgrades and change requests with Business Units
- Support autonomous maintenance activities for existing equipment, including centerline and changeover
- Provide technical leadership and support for training, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Develop and manage controls capital projects for the facility
- Assist in developing the plant’s five-year capital plan
- Develop and manage external supplier relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronic engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical/engineering field
- Five years of post-bachelor experience working with manufacturing controls systems
- Advanced programming knowledge and experience with PLC and HMI, including RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Connected Components, Allen Bradley FactoryTalk ME and SE, Schneider controllers, and Vijeo Machine
- Advanced configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of controls networking systems and network security, including virtual networks and firewalls
- Experience programming, modifying, and troubleshooting recipes and phase control processes in Allen Bradley Batch Management system
- Experience configuring ThinManager and ThinClient
- Programming knowledge and experience with Fanuc and ABB robotics
- Experience managing and supporting capital projects
- Ability to develop, mentor, and train technical and operational personnel
