About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead profitable operations of multiple stores within the North New Jersey district
  • Execute the company's retail strategy across customer service, in-stock, and store appearance
  • Coach and develop store management to drive sales and profitability
  • Resolve people issues and escalated customer care issues
  • Use financial, sales, and store reports to identify operational opportunities
  • Monitor market trends and competition and execute improvement game plans
  • Communicate retail strategy between regional leadership and stores
  • Conduct regular store walks, town hall meetings, and staff meetings
  • Develop leaders and build a talent pipeline for store leadership positions
  • Evaluate inventory productivity, maximize turns, improve in-stock, and reduce slow-moving merchandise
  • Improve operations in Receiving, Front End, Tool Rental, and Interconnected Retail
  • Position reports to a Regional Vice President and has approximately 10 direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Minimum education: high school diploma and/or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience
  • At least 3 years prior merchandising and/or operational experience
  • At least 3 years leadership experience, preferably retail
  • Ability to interpret sales reporting documents
  • Experience leveraging sales and profit opportunities through shrink management, safety and environmental compliance, P&L management, and markdown controls
  • Ability to work a flexible, minimum 55 hour weekly schedule
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time
