About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell the Company's exterior and interior products and services to customers
  • Conduct outside sales visits, primarily at customer homes, and attend trade shows and industry events
  • Assess customer needs and make individually tailored product recommendations
  • Develop and negotiate customized price quotes
  • Present warranty information and financing options
  • Complete sales contracts, paperwork, and required measurements using industry-standard methods
  • Solicit and acquire new customers inside assigned THD stores and at industry events
  • Travel to assigned stores, maintain local relationships, educate store associates on HDIS offerings, and promote HDIS programs
  • Prospect for new customers and seek referrals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with store management and associates
  • Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn HDIS product offerings
  • Report to the Sales Manager; no direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • 1+ years of previous related work experience
  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly lift, handle, or carry moderate-weight material or equipment (8–20 pounds)
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% of the time
  • Preferred: prior in-home or virtual sales experience
  • Preferred: prior home improvement industry experience
  • Preferred: prior successful lead-generation experience
  • Computer and application skills, including email, iPad, apps, and varied technology
  • Minimum education: high school diploma and/or GED
  • No previous leadership experience required
