About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive incremental sales growth and profitability through account relationships
  • Focus on Complex Business Expansion and new business development
  • Monitor KPIs for assigned professional customers and meet or exceed sales and margin performance plans
  • Use customer insights and satisfaction results to improve competitive position and capability adoption
  • Participate in district/regional meetings and communicate weekly activities with the Pro Sales Manager
  • Represent The Home Depot Pro brand at local community events
  • Sell enterprise products and services, including commercial credit, volume pricing, delivery, will-call pickup, and website ordering
  • Produce new account revenue in line with individual targets/quotas
  • Partner with Inside Sales Support Representative to provide end-to-end quoting, ordering, and transaction support
  • Complete in-person sales appointments and develop customer-base expansion strategies
  • Cultivate assigned customer portfolios and prospect for incremental sales growth
  • Use Salesforce to plan sales calls, manage customer communications, and maintain the sales pipeline
  • Conduct initial customer meetings, sell The Home Depot value proposition, and win opportunities to quote materials
  • Prospect using internal leads and leads generated through customers, stores, and the community
  • Typically reports to the Pro Sales Manager; has 0 direct reports
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • 5 years of professional work experience (preferred)
  • 2 years account management/sales management experience (preferred)
  • 2 plus years home improvement or home building industry experience (preferred)
  • Successful professional growth in a high-paced retail environment
  • Strong ability to create and cultivate an active network of relationships
  • Ability to leverage relationships to accomplish sales and profitability goals
  • Deep understanding of Pro customer needs with a focus on fulfilling product, credit, and performance requirements
  • Ability to tailor communications and customer-facing activities appropriately
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills; ability to persuade or influence others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum education: high school diploma and/or GED
  • Minimum years of work experience: 2
