About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell the Company's exterior and interior products and services to customers
  • Conduct outside sales visits primarily at customer homes and trade shows
  • Assess customer needs and provide individually tailored product recommendations
  • Develop and negotiate customized price quotes
  • Present warranty information and available financing options
  • Maintain and drive profitability
  • Complete sales contracts and related paperwork
  • Take measurements using industry-standard methods to meet installation specifications
  • Proactively solicit and acquire new customers inside assigned THD stores and at industry events
  • Travel to assigned stores, maintain local relationships, educate store associates on HDIS offerings, and increase awareness of HDIS programs
  • Prospect for new customers and referrals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with store management and associates
  • Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn HDIS product offerings
  • Report to the Sales Manager; no direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • High school diploma and/or GED typically acquired for the role
  • 1+ years of previous related work experience
  • Prior in-home or virtual sales experience preferred
  • Prior home improvement industry experience preferred
  • Prior experience with successful lead generation preferred
  • Computer and application skills, including email, iPad, apps, and varied technology preferred
  • Must be able to continuously stand or walk or regularly lift/handle/carry moderate-weight material or equipment (8–20 pounds)
  • No previous leadership experience required
  • No certifications required
