About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently develop and refactor products to meet customer and associate needs
Create, deploy, test, maintain, and support production software applications
Develop functional and destructive test suites to enable rapid code deployment
Participate in product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning, and production monitoring
Collaborate with team members in agile processes
Work with Product Teams to ensure user stories are valuable, developer-ready, understandable, and testable
Provide clear communications tailored to different audiences
Guide junior engineers on modern software development frameworks
Lead technical discussions and support delivery of assigned modules and features
Report to a Software Engineer Manager or Senior Manager
No travel required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be eighteen years of age or older
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
2-4 years of relevant work experience preferred
Experience building and supporting high-volume, enterprise-scale backend applications processing financial transaction data
Experience designing and developing APIs from scratch and scalable microservices architectures
Hands-on experience with Java, Kafka, Pub/Sub, RESTful APIs, Microservices, and Elasticsearch
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and cloud-native data solutions
Experience supporting large-scale data environments handling millions of daily transactions and multi-billion record datasets
Experience leading small engineering teams or technical workstreams and driving multiple initiatives
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, and senior leadership
Background working in large enterprise organizations with complex, distributed systems and mission-critical applications
Experience with event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and high-throughput transaction platforms
Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related field
Minimum 3 years of work experience
