About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a team of engineers building and designing customer- and associate-focused products
- Create, deploy, and support production applications
- Assist with product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning, and production monitoring
- Contribute reusable foundational code elements, architectural diagrams, and product-related documentation
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software
- Develop functional, destructive, and other test suites to enable rapid production deployment
- Work with the Product Team to ensure user stories are developer-ready, understandable, and testable
- Collaborate with team members in agile processes
- Field questions from product and engineering teams
- Guide junior engineers on modern software development frameworks and lead technical discussions
- Identify team gaps and suggest changes to improve productivity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field related to the job
- Minimum 3 years of work experience
- Extensive experience with front end technology such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java
- Experience with relational or NoSQL database technology
- Experience with cloud computing techniques
- Experience with CI/CD tools and modern software design patterns
- Experience in data modeling with relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with security frameworks for user and service authorization and authentication
- Experience creating and executing unit, functional, destructive, and performance tests
- Experience with modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience designing systems for high availability, disaster recovery, performance, efficiency, and security
- Exposure to developing technical roadmaps, including work estimation, refactoring, and modernizing legacy systems
