About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as an ambassador between IIA Headquarters and chapter volunteer leaders
  • Develop and implement chapter-based and North American membership retention and recruitment plans
  • Build relationships with chapter leaders through communications, consultative guidance, training, and mentoring
  • Guide chapters in developing and implementing strategies, programs, and events
  • Work with chapters to set and achieve goals, increase certifications, and improve membership growth and retention
  • Conduct occasional in-person chapter visits
  • Set up and manage event registrations and take comprehensive meeting minutes
  • Cultivate relationships with chapter leaders, volunteers, and community partners
  • Facilitate communication between Headquarters and chapters
  • Create training resources with subject matter experts and organize training sessions and workshops
  • Plan and execute chapter events and initiatives using event management tools
  • Maintain records and track chapter activity performance metrics
  • Collect feedback from chapter leaders, volunteers, and members
  • Provide regular reports to the Manager of Chapter Engagement on trends, strengths, and improvement areas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred but not required
  • Proven experience in nonprofit or community engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance, volunteer management, and chapter development best practices
  • Experience with event management tools such as Cvent preferred
  • Proficiency in software and tools for data management and reporting
  • Association management or not-for-profit experience highly desirable
  • Upon hiring, acquiring basic knowledge of internal audit principles and awareness of changing demands on the profession expected
  • Willingness and ability to work in the Headquarters office in Lake Mary, Florida 40% of the time
