About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a relationship manager for donors and prospects
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects
- Secure gifts through face-to-face solicitations as part of a $25M+ annual campaign
- Develop new methods and techniques for relationship building
- Ensure consistent onboarding and welcoming of donors, including Ben-Gurion Society donors
- Acquire young adult donors and lay leaders through prospecting, outreach, community connections, and post-event follow-up
- Partner strategically with Next Gen Co-Chairs, Next Gen Board, and other lay leaders
- Initiate and develop solicitation efforts and enhance engagement initiatives
- Support lay-leader onboarding and develop strategies for committees, meetings, and events
- Create written materials including annotated agendas, operational plans, project timelines, and solicitor recruitment plans
- Develop a lay leadership pipeline with FRD colleagues
- Develop and implement Board engagement, events, and leadership experiences
- Organize large events, small gatherings, educational leadership series, and cross-collaborative opportunities with partner agencies and Jewish Federations of North America
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–7 years of experience in annual fundraising, donor engagement, customer service, sales, or relationship or account management required
- Strong donor-relations skills, including cultivating prospects and creating donor engagement strategies that lead to greater philanthropic support
- Data-driven decision-maker comfortable with analytics and data management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing membership or volunteer operations and working with volunteer committees
- First-hand knowledge of the Jewish community, its customs, and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRMs; comfortable with and open to new technology
- Familiarity with Jewish customs, traditions, and community life, or willingness to learn preferred
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater Washington (DC, MD, and Northern VA) region
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
