About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop new standardized but configurable software solutions to drive positive customer outcomes
  • Implement technical solutions for various customers
  • Maintain and improve existing solutions according to priorities
  • Identify improvements to existing software solutions
  • Own and prioritize opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts
  • Manage workflow and competing priorities
  • Provide timely updates to internal and external contacts
  • Participate in scoping and quoting customer opportunities
  • Provide technical support for implemented solutions
  • Utilize strategic partner company products to maximize company value
  • Re-deploy standard software solutions developed by the team
  • Maintain software repositories such as GitHub
  • Implement and adhere to program documentation and version-control standards
  • Collaborate with QA engineers on unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Keep current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance across the software development lifecycle
  • Participate in Scrum or Kanban meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Document software design, architecture, and processes
  • Assist in developing SOPs for software engineering functions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Report to the Professional Services Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years’ experience as a Software Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing software development projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or substantial equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with MS Office
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems such as Git
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally
  • Excellent internal and external customer service
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and tackle complex technical challenges
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sit, talk, and hear; stand, walk, and climb stairs, with reasonable accommodations available
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Previous experience with Plex, Fiix, FactoryTalk Optix, or other SCADA software preferred but not required
  • Exposure to industrial/manufacturing operations preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred but not required
  • Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL queries preferred but not required
  • Machine control with computer programming experience preferred but not required
