About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Update cashbooks daily and apply all inbound and outbound cash in SAGE Intacct
- Set up weekly banking payments as directed by the Accountant: Accounts Payable and London Finance Team
- Review and action daily banking requirements, including FX deals and transfers
- Report daily balances across all bank accounts
- Action exceptional manual payment requests after ensuring approval in line with LawDeb DOA
- Escalate queries requiring investigation to the appropriate management team
- Prepare daily NAV (Net Asset Value) for the investment portfolio
- Minimise suspense account postings and collaborate with the wider Finance team to resolve them within SLA
- Complete ad hoc Finance tasks as required by the Group Accountant, Technical Accountant and Management Accountant
- Ensure internal controls are operating and monitored
- Prepare management information and KPIs
- Review and maintain team procedure documentation
- Support and adhere to audit requests as instructed by the Shared Service Director
- Review and implement process improvements
- Contribute to the development of cohesive, efficient and effective Finance team processes
- Undertake training and development and engage fully in performance management
- Contribute positively to LawDeb culture, attend meetings and carry out duties diligently
- Abide by applicable regulatory rules in spirit and fact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working within a Finance, Cash Management, Treasury, Banking or Shared Services environment
- Experience of online banking administration, including payment preparation, bank transfers and general banking activities
- Experience of maintaining cashbooks, processing cash receipts and completing accurate financial records
- Good understanding of financial controls and the importance of compliance, accuracy and appropriate authorisation
- Experience of working with finance/accounting systems and maintaining accurate financial data
- Ability to investigate financial discrepancies and identify when issues need to be escalated to the appropriate colleague
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct and/or SAP Concur preferred, but not essential
- Diligent, analytical and excellent attention to detail without loss of pace
- Outstanding numeracy, data management and manipulation skills
- Strong communication skills and an inquisitive mind
- IT literate, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Takes full ownership for the delivery of tasks
- Independent thinker and proactive problem-solver, able to ask for help when needed
- Resilience, willingness to listen, learn and incorporate feedback
- Ambitious and keen to take on additional responsibility
- Must complete thorough referencing, including credit and criminal record checks
