About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to clients, producers and company personnel
- Handle tasks associated with obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing existing accounts according to agency procedures and carrier guidelines
- Manage mid-size to large commercial construction lines accounts
- Work with the Account Executive and/or Department Lead on client servicing, guidance and training
- Prepare company submissions for new and renewal business, market accounts, and prepare proposals
- Prepare change requests and review audits and policies for accuracy
- Set up and prepare new account files in Applied EPIC
- Invoice agency bill transactions within 48 hours and collect premiums
- Notify producers of unpaid audits and request appropriate action
- Review renewals with producers at least 120 days before expiration and determine marketing strategies
- Prepare and process cancellations and follow up on cancellation notices
- Respond to carrier memos and process necessary updates
- Process client requests, including ID cards, evidence of property, certificates of insurance, and binders
- Review and deliver policies and related documents to insureds
- Evaluate exposure, negotiate and interpret coverage, and review coverage with clients
- Evaluate and recommend additional coverage based on client needs
- Keep producers informed of important account activities
- Review aged receivable, renewal/expiration, and suspense reports
- Maintain detailed documentation of client activity and correspondence in EPIC
- Use the EPIC suspense system to follow up on outstanding items
- Prioritize workload and reduce backlog
- Participate in special projects and other duties
- Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through bulletins, trade publications and seminars
- Respond to phone calls and emails within 24 hours
- Process client requests within 24 hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- College degree preferred
- Professional designation is a plus
- Extensive experience in and knowledge of large commercial construction insurance within New York and New Jersey markets
- Knowledge of Applied EPIC system or similar agency management system
- Knowledge of commercial insurance and products
- Knowledge of construction in New York and New Jersey is a huge plus
- Good listening skills
- Attention to detail
- Positive attitude
- Applicants must meet applicable state insurance licensing requirements for positions requiring a state insurance license
- Applicants must not have been disqualified or barred from licensure, or prohibited from conducting the business of insurance under Title 18 U.S. Code, §§1033 and 1034
