About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the consolidation and migration of an existing Microsoft Access / Excel VBA application to Azure SQL Database
- Analyse and consolidate multiple Microsoft Access databases
- Validate database schemas and data integrity
- Migrate Access schemas and data to Azure SQL
- Develop and execute ETL and data reconciliation
- Configure ODBC connectivity
- Update Excel VBA database connections
- Test existing VBA macros and forms
- Lead UAT and resolve migration issues
- Produce technical and handover documentation
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand the existing application and validate requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong Microsoft Access experience
- Strong Excel VBA experience
- Azure SQL / SQL Server expertise
- Access-to-SQL migration experience
- SQL, ETL and data reconciliation skills
- ODBC configuration and troubleshooting experience
- Strong stakeholder and requirements-gathering skills
- Ability to independently deliver an end-to-end technical solution
- Legacy application modernisation experience (desirable)
- Azure data platform experience (desirable)
- Financial services or insurance experience (desirable)
- Consulting experience with non-technical stakeholders (desirable)
