About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Regional Operations Manager in delivering efficient, high-quality operational services across the Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico Business Units
  • Coordinate and oversee operational support activities
  • Foster a strong customer service culture focused on internal clients
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, and other functional teams
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement
  • Support implementation of operational best practices and develop solutions to operational challenges
  • Manage confidential information and support employee-related administrative processes
  • Contribute to change management and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide guidance to operational staff
  • Supervise one or more team members and provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, guidance, and performance support
  • Develop and coordinate tactics for approved strategic plans and complete day-to-day tasks
  • Ensure programmatic commitments, policies, procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met
  • Implement and manage new initiatives supporting department and organization-wide goals
  • Manage projects, timelines, deadlines, and accountability
  • Participate in complex negotiations
  • Administer HR transactions for the Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico Business Units
  • Support HR annual processes including merit review and performance partnerships
  • Support onboarding and explain organizational structures and functional contacts
  • Support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation with Finance
  • Monitor staff timesheet completion
  • Manage Business Unit Staff Delegations of Authority with Legal
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented team culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related experience or equivalent combination
  • Experience coordinating operational, administrative, human resources, finance, or related business processes
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Experience working across departments
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and service providers
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information using discretion and sound judgment
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Supervisory experience including setting objectives, managing performance, and conflict resolution
  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated
  • Non-profit work experience considered a “plus”
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful applicant must meet The Nature Conservancy's background screening requirements
