About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Answer inbound calls from automotive clients and repair shops
  • Help customers identify, order, and track car parts
  • Process telephone orders using the internal parts database
  • Check stock availability and coordinate fulfillment
  • Resolve inquiries about part compatibility, order status, returns, and delivery updates
  • Maintain relationships with commercial clients and first-time callers
  • Manage customer orders from receipt through completion
  • Communicate with departments and coordinate with vendors to fulfill orders
  • Confirm order status, availability, ship dates, tracking information, and cancellations with manufacturers
  • Acquire return authorizations and credit memos from manufacturers
  • Provide internal shipment documentation
  • Process shipping claims
  • Send replacement requests and return authorizations to manufacturers
  • Resolve vendor and carrier invoice discrepancies
  • Support customer service with order issues
  • Verify documentation and assist with customer account issues received by email
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety
  • Secure and transfer cash or other assets
  • Perform miscellaneous projects and related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1-2 years customer service or related experience required
  • Proficient in basic computer programs and functions, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Gmail
  • Punctual and consistent attendance
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing work environments
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and take directions
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Time management and work prioritization skills
  • Ability to use logic and sound judgment to make decisions
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
  • Strong, friendly verbal communication skills and professional phone manner
  • Basic computer proficiency for searching parts catalogs, entering orders, and tracking shipments
  • Auto parts sales, mechanics, collision body parts experience, or automotive mechanics knowledge preferred
