About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage all warehouse operations for the assigned location
Develop strategic departmental initiatives and meaningful operating metrics
Manage warehousing, logistics, and inventory management activities
Maintain productivity, efficiency, and customer service goals
Review daily status reports across distribution center functional areas
Oversee delivery routing to customers and stores
Plan hub warehouse-to-store shuttle routes
Analyze delivery and transportation data and implement improvements
Ensure dock-to-stock for most lines within 72 hours
Audit and adjust processes and monitor employee productivity metrics
Formulate and enforce warehouse picking goals
Develop vendor order unloading and stocking procedures with purchasing
Ensure trucks and trailers are accurately loaded and unloaded
Coordinate with dispatchers and outbound production to enhance delivery service
Lead and supervise warehouse managers
Plan staffing and workflow according to timelines and market changes
Conduct time studies and improve job staffing
Mentor, train, and develop team members
Provide feedback and coach for improvement
Maintain the warehouse budget and control operating expenses
Project capital expenditures as necessary
Administer and maintain 5S warehouse principles
Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety
Ensure DOT and OSHA compliance practices
Communicate with executive-level management
Manage FedEx, UPS, USPS, and local delivery relationships
Perform additional assigned duties
Promote workplace safety
Secure and transfer cash or other assets

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous warehouse leadership experience
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lead and supervise a team of managers
Ability to adjust staffing across multi-functional platforms
Ability to assign staff to warehouse jobs and improve job staffing
Ability to identify, motivate, mentor and develop high performers
Ability to train, develop and motivate team members
Ability to provide actionable feedback during review periods and ongoing
Ability to hold team members accountable to high productivity metrics
Ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management
Knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety and compliance standards
Ability to manage carrier and local delivery relationships
Ability to secure and transfer cash or other assets
