About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all warehouse operations for the assigned location
  • Develop strategic departmental initiatives and meaningful warehouse, logistics and inventory management metrics
  • Maintain productivity, efficiency and customer service levels
  • Review daily status reports across distribution center functional areas and respond accordingly
  • Oversee delivery routing and plan shuttle routes between hub warehouses and stores
  • Analyze delivery and transportation data and implement improvements
  • Ensure dock-to-stock processing for most lines within 72 hours
  • Audit and adjust processes and oversee employee productivity metrics
  • Formulate and enforce picking goals for warehouse areas/zones
  • Develop procedures with purchasing for unloading vendor orders and stocking shelves
  • Ensure trucks and trailers are efficiently and accurately loaded and unloaded
  • Collaborate with dispatchers and outbound production teams to improve delivery-vehicle customer service
  • Lead and supervise warehouse managers
  • Allocate staffing and assign warehouse jobs
  • Conduct time studies and improve job staffing
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members
  • Maintain the warehouse budget, control operating expenses and project capital expenditures
  • Administer and enforce 5S warehouse principles
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization and safety
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA standards
  • Communicate frequently with executive-level management
  • Manage FedEx, UPS, USPS and local contract delivery relationships
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety
  • Secure and transfer cash or other assets
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
