About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive the hotel's sales efforts to achieve maximum revenue results and deliver exceptional guest service
- Increase room night sales and improve market penetration
- Build business relationships with local corporate clients and network with local business associations and chambers of commerce
- Meet and exceed revenue and proactive sales activity goals
- Qualify new leads and prospects, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and service secured business
- Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat clients through multiple channels, including local travel as needed
- Participate in special promotions and blitzes
- Host in-person and virtual property site tours
- Attend off-premise after-hours functions to promote the hotel
- Review billing with clients and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
- Produce and distribute hotel communications such as BEOs and resumes
- Maintain files and sales databases according to company standards
- Greet clients upon arrival for events and promptly follow up on customer needs and inquiries
- Understand the competitive landscape and secure profitable business
- Capture client requirements and communicate specifications to appropriate departments
- Represent the hotel with integrity, professionalism, and a service-focused approach
- Maintain relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account saturation
- Handle multiple customer and operational demands under time-sensitive deadlines
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in a hotel is preferred with a proven track record of success
- Reliable transportation and ability to make outside sales calls
- A degree preferably in Sales and/or Hospitality Management is highly desirable
- Excellent command of oral and written skills with good presentation abilities
- Hilton operating system experience preferred but not required, such as OnQ and Delphi.fdc
- Ability to lift supplies occasionally, usually up to 10 lbs. and potentially up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk 40% of the workday
