About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead investigations into safeguarding concerns and allegations involving TSA Personnel
  • Report on investigation findings, Safeguarding Audits, and compliance with the broader Safeguarding Framework
  • Conduct objective investigations into allegations of abuse toward children and young people by employees and volunteers
  • Research and review evidence from internal and external sources
  • Organise and conduct interviews with children and young people, witnesses, and alleged persons
  • Document investigation processes, evidence, actions, and outcomes
  • Manage internal and external reporting obligations, including reports to senior leaders, police reports, reportable conduct, and statutory child protection reports
  • Provide updates to senior leaders regarding investigation status
  • Oversee external investigations and gather relevant information by liaising with Officer Personnel, Legal, and/or Centre for Restoration teams
  • Develop investigator briefs for external investigators
  • Undertake post-investigation safeguarding risk assessments
  • Undertake safeguarding audits and report on audit outcomes and other key parts of TSA's Safeguarding Framework

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Sciences or similar qualification
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations
  • Formal training and/or Qualifications in Investigations
  • Proven experience in conducting investigations involving children, young people and vulnerable people
  • Proven experience in conducting workplace investigations
  • Understanding of the dynamics associated with abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Understanding of the dynamics and risks associated with sexual abuse in institutional contexts
  • A national police and WWCC check is required
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Applicants for all roles require a mandatory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
