About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and manage primary relationships with key policyholders and producers through frequent on-site visits, negotiation, communication, problem resolution, and customer service
  • Act as liaison between home office departments and customers to initiate plan improvements and resolve administrative inconsistencies
  • Conduct face-to-face pre-renewal client visits to analyze claims experience, review contract adequacy, and recommend coverage or contractual changes
  • Manage amendment processes for assigned accounts
  • Partner with sales representatives and underwriters to monitor renewal activity and prepare customized retention strategies
  • Gather underwriting data, review claims experience, justify renewals, and recommend changes
  • Negotiate rates, contract provisions, and administrative issues with Regional or National Accounts
  • Identify and promote additional coverage lines and plan improvements
  • Request and review in-force proposal requests and present proposals to brokers and policyholders
  • Support acquisition, submission, and implementation of National Accounts and Regional Accounts over 500 lives
  • Lead submission, setup, and installation of new groups and support new administrators at assigned in-force accounts
  • Facilitate enrollment processes, enrollment meetings, and benefit fairs
  • Mentor the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in group insurance account management in the 2500+ lives space
  • Life and Disability insurance license for all states within the office’s assigned territory
  • Personal automobile available for business use with adequate insurance
  • Safe driving record
  • Ability to travel within territory for face-to-face client and broker meetings when requested
  • Must live in the Hartford, CT area
  • Successful completion of criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification
  • Must be bondable
