About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support preparation of quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations, including ASC 740 reporting and analysis
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns, tax adjustment workpapers, quarterly tax-related filings, and analyses
- Perform tax account reconciliations
- Process tax-related payments
- Prepare journal entries supporting accurate financial reporting
- Assist with indirect tax filings and workpapers, including premium tax, sales and use tax, and property tax requirements
- Support tax withholding and compliance activities, including deposits and interactions with federal and state taxing authorities
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Gain exposure to tax leadership, strategic projects, and executive-level discussions
- Work under one manager overseeing day-to-day activities, with opportunities to work with multiple teams in the division
- Work in an all-virtual remote environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be enrolled as a full-time student throughout the duration of the internship
- Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and students pursuing advanced degrees are encouraged to apply
- Must be available to extend the summer internship in a part-time capacity from late August or early September through October 15
- Preferred majors in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated by previous work experience and/or course of study
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with AI tools preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and accept feedback
- Must undergo criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification as a condition of employment
