About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the strategic direction and management of the Presale business area
  • Ensure RFP and Proposal requests for all products are answered accurately and promptly
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuary, Sales, and other major business areas
  • Manage presale workflows and processes
  • Deliver competitive, comprehensive, and accurate RFPs and Proposals
  • Lead Presale team operations across intake, quoting, RFPs, testing, peer reviews, and new technology
  • Uphold best practices and operational excellence through a streamlined internal presale support process
  • Recognize and address conflicts between departments
  • Develop a talent pipeline and maintain adequate resources for customer demands and business cycles
  • Monitor workflow and manage team performance, addressing issues and conflicts constructively
  • Develop and maintain training programs for varying levels of complexity
  • Manage budgets and resources to achieve goals
  • Track and analyze capabilities, capacity, and output data
  • Create reporting to track customer trends
  • Act as an expert resource to senior management and product owners
  • Create team identity and build momentum toward a shared purpose
  • Generate operational plans aligned with the business unit/function’s strategic vision
  • Deliver individual and group feedback to support employee development and department performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience
  • People-leadership experience required
  • Quoting/RFP background or experience managing a complex team, including managers, required
  • Experience specifically with Life & Supplemental Health products required
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement and change management theories and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce reporting tool and MS Office Suite required
  • Experience with data analytics and PowerBI preferred
  • Experience in Salesforce and Workday preferred
  • Successful candidates must be bondable
  • Criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification required as a condition of employment
