About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for policyholders, employers, and employees on claims and coverage inquiries
  • Administer life, disability, and leave claims, including coordination of paid parental leave and death claims
  • Assist employees with filing claims
  • Resolve escalations related to claims, billing, and contract interpretation
  • Partner with HR and Benefits teams across multiple locations
  • Provide reporting on claims status, outstanding items, and Evidence of Insurability
  • Support Evidence of Insurability tracking
  • Ensure accurate premium administration and contract interpretation
  • Coordinate customer service, claims, and coverage issue resolution
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance the customer experience and support business retention

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in leave management, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and life insurance
  • Experience managing claims processes and resolving complex customer inquiries
  • Experience in Oracle or other Benefits Administration programs
  • Strong knowledge of benefit contract interpretation and premium administration
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and business units
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on empathy and customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience coordinating projects and cross-functional work
  • Experience supporting group life, disability, and leave programs in a corporate or insurance environment
  • Ability to work eastern time zone hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm
  • Successful completion of criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification
  • Must be bondable
