About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals attempting to commit theft and fraud
- Facilitate civil and criminal prosecution
- Report incidents and collaborate with police
- Attend court as required
- Use CCTV equipment and conduct floor walking for store surveillance
- Investigate and report external losses from repeat offenders and organized groups with Organized Retail Crime Investigators
- Report internal dishonesty to Regional Internal Investigators
- Support Supply-chain Investigators on potential supply chain losses
- Collaborate with Loss Prevention Remote Investigators to identify and report external incidents to law enforcement
- Support District Loss Prevention Managers by reporting possible shrink opportunities
- Report directly to a Store Investigation’s Supervisor within the Loss Prevention department
- Potentially support multiple stores and/or markets
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Law and Security/Loss Prevention Diploma preferred
- Relevant experience in Retail Loss Prevention, Military, Security, or Law Enforcement encouraged
- Provincial security license required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Access to a vehicle preferred
- Good driving record preferred
- Strong understanding of the Criminal Code and its application to retail crimes
- Candidates aged 18 and over must undergo a criminal record check as part of the hiring process
