About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage new store construction and remodel projects across multiple states
  • Maintain new store construction progress schedules and provide updates through communication with landlords, architects, general contractors, and planning departments
  • Track deals, drive schedules, assist with issues and problem solving, perform value engineering, and conduct quality assurance for new stores
  • Manage remodels and special projects, ensuring schedules, communication, quality assurance, and operational safety
  • Provide construction updates to the Construction Department and Field Operations Teams
  • Travel as needed for progress and quality assurance checks
  • Handle budgets and change orders
  • Support store operations with timing issues, store access, remodels, special projects, maintenance, and warranty items
  • Manage communication with managers on duty, general contractors, and store operations
  • Review preliminary and final construction documents for adherence to project plans
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, building specifications, contract terms, and federal, state, and local regulations and codes
  • Develop new construction processes to increase efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of construction project management experience
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Project
  • Basic construction management software abilities, including Lucernex
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of construction trades, building codes, and building methods
  • Experience managing construction projects from planning stages through occupancy
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a state of ambiguity
  • Ability to think strategically and anticipate future consequences and trends
  • Ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate urgency, and carry multiple projects through to completion
