About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with Directors in preparing, supporting, and executing high-level Studio, Remote, and REMI productions
  • Contribute content ideas based on developing storylines across sports
  • Support multiple high-profile productions through project management
  • Mentor Associate Directors and Stage Managers and provide comprehensive written performance feedback to Directing Management
  • Direct assigned productions as a path toward Director
  • Assist Directors during productions by timing elements, keying fonts, coordinating feeds, and maintaining communication with live shots
  • Assist with routing, papping, framing, and clearing remote guests; selecting music and MOS’ing into rundowns; checking codes and rundown changes during Ignite/Automated productions
  • Assist with pre-production elements including billboards, promotions, teases, graphics, special effects, virtual imagery, video, and fonts
  • Participate in production meetings and develop visual content for shows
  • Request images, monitor graphics, and execute studio moves supporting show storylines
  • Verify guest locations and coordinate paperwork with Audio and Transmission/VCC
  • Assist with PCR setup, including communications and monitoring build
  • Plan and organize special projects and interact with other departments
  • Work with lead Directors on special graphics elements and animations
  • Support game-related responsibilities and traffic on REMI productions
  • Generate promotional, sales, and editorial copy cards for on-air talent
  • Run preproduction sessions
  • Direct Ignite and ViBox productions for digital and radio programming, pre-recorded segments, studio productions, and remote productions
  • Maintain Directing Department performance standards and demonstrate leadership in operations, communication, personal development, and productions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Directing department or network equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of television production
  • Clear, concise, and comprehensive verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think quickly in a pressure situation
  • Leadership skills, including facility and crew oversight, organization and show execution, and problem solving
  • Hard working, detail oriented, creative, passionate about production, and interested in technology
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at the Associate Director level in Directing department or network equivalent, or Director equivalent in local television preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
