About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and own systems enabling rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of interactive ad formats
Integrate ad experiences into creative platforms for ad-tier users
Write and review code and tests
Review implementations for best practices and algorithmic complexity
Support engineers on an on-call shift when needed
Assess product requirements, provide feasibility perspectives, and translate requirements into implementation tasks
Research, implement proofs of concept, and propose improvements to ad-serving systems
Define, review, and document software and system designs in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment
Improve observability through metrics, monitors, and alerts
Participate in architectural discussions and bridge team requirements with technical capabilities
Mentor and inspire engineers across professional software development

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant work experience
10+ years of software engineering experience
Advanced proficiency with Java, including heap, multi-threading, garbage collection, and profiling
Analytical, problem-solving, and design skills in a highly distributed and highly available services ecosystem
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with SpringBoot and related Spring projects
Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB
Experience with Redis and/or MemCache
Experience with Apache Kafka and/or Kinesis
Experience with AWS or another cloud platform
Experience with observability tooling such as logs and metrics
Preferred: experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
Preferred: Ad Tech industry knowledge
Ability to work in the office four days a week
Ability to support an on-call shift when needed
